MoMA NYC: Museum of Modern Art, New York City. PART ONE

Wow, what can I say about MoMA? Their collection is as exceptional as it is varied and diverse. One second I was thinking to myself, "Wow, I can't believe I just saw that famous Dali." Then I turn the corner and SURPRISE, there's that famous Monet! A truly inspiring experience. Manhattanites are so lucky to have this treasure.

Picasso: Girl Before a Mirror (1932)
Duality of the female identity. Chastity and vulgarity. We ended up buying this print.

Picasso: Three Musicians (1921)
If you ever go to any live jazz/music joints, then you've probably seen this one on the wall.
Do you see the dog?

Chagall: I and the Village (1911)
I love how he uses goats in all his work.

Dali: Persistence of Memory (1931)
In college, a lot of my friends had this up on their walls. Surprisingly, the actual piece is just barely bigger than a regular piece of paper. I was expecting much bigger.

Monet: Reflections of Clouds on the Water-Lily Pond (1920)
Another one I always see prints of. This is probably one of my favorite paintings. Check out how the clouds blend in with the water lillys and you get lost trying to figure out which way is up.

It's HUGE! The piece is so big that it has its own room. I even had to take the picture from an angle. I could barely get it all.

van Gogh: The Starry Night (1889)
The work says it all.

van Gogh: Portrait of Joseph Roulin (1889)
Compare this portrait with Diego Rivera's below.

Diego Rivera: Portrait of Jacques Lipchitz (1914)
It's interesting to note the two very different portraiture styles of Rivera and van Gogh, especially considering that these two pieces were created only 25 years apart.

Klimt: Hope, II (1907)
LOVE Klimt.

Klimt: The Park (1910)
Again, I love this guy's work. The colors are so vivid. You may recognize the style from another famous work of his called The Kiss.

Cezzane: Still Life with Apples (1898)
I love Cezanne's fruit stills. The style almost looks like it was made using chalk on paper. His prints are going up in my kitchen some day.

I guess UGGs are in?
