Photos by Tien

At Toe's b-day bash, I met Tien, a really cool guy who was also taking pictures. I didn't get what his specific set up was, but it was a professional grade digital Nikon, you know, the kind that has a flash that the photographer uses in his other hand. Anyway, Tien was nice enough to share some photo tips with me, so I wanted to post some pictures that he took that night. If you compare these pictures from the ones I took, there's really no comparison. As you can see, Tien was able to capture really good shots, even given the challenges of the low-lighting situations. That, and his shots all have a real good energy to them; they really capture a special moment, which is, at its core, what photography is supposed to be. Part of why I wanted to include these in my blog is so I have something to refer to when I'm looking for excellent photographs. More of his work from the party can be seen here. Thanks Tien!
